Biography

Martha McKinley Murphy is a Pennsylvania artist. Her works span from Watercolor paintings, Metal Sculptures, Clay, Stained Glass, Needlepoint Design and Hand painted items. Her most recent work of the last 2 years has been geared towards METAL SCULPTURE made form recycled steel and copper.

As a painter from age 7, Martha has always found art to be intriguing and a necessity in her life. She owns and operates Waking Bear Studio; providing here art work to galleries throughout the United States. Martha also works as and Artist in Residence for the Southern Alleghenies Museum of Art.

As a graduate from St. Michael's College in Vermont, she holds a BA in Fine Arts and English. Her interest interests in all art forms include special attention to animals and floral imagery in her work. Martha enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, reading and loving her dogs! She welcomes COMMISSION WORK.
